Hello, In January, many of us take stock of the previous year. It’s the moment when we make new resolutions to ensure that the year ahead will be more successful, happier, more joyful, healthier and more peaceful. An assessment that brings out the unpleasant moments, the sometimes discouraging failures, but also the wonderful events and successes that are a source of encouragement! What if the mistakes that discourage you served you just as well as your successes? Wouldn’t that be great? Recurring mistakes remind you of your weaknesses, but more than that, they give you direction, enabling you to learn and adjust your goals. Mistakes become a springboard to the best! The key is learning. Nelson Mandela once said “I win or I learn, I never lose”. Success is not a matter of luck, it’s predetermined, it’s built. Our mistakes and failures are the means by which we learn the most. Our successes and victories give us the strength and confidence to move forward. These two components shape us over time. They give us a fine-tuned direction towards success. Here are a few steps to help you take stock, set good resolutions (or goals!) and draw up an effective roadmap for taking a step towards success in 2018: 1- Celebrate your successes! This will give you confidence and motivate you to repeat. 2- Learn from your mistakes
Make a list of the most important mistakes you consider and reflect, without spending too much time on it, on what you could have done to succeed! 3- I don’t fail, I learn! A mistake you’ve learned from is only a learning experience. Keep this in mind: learning is a victory! 4- Readjust and set new goals
This time, take the time to review your goals and set new ones for this year. Knowing where you are and where you’re going will make it easier to chart a course and take the right decisions to achieve them. An attainable goal is always personal (involving only you), achievable, quantifiable and measurable. 5- Keep your eyes on the goal! Remember that you’re great and that a lot of people need you! Never lose sight of your goal, write it down, repeat it, record it, and share it! When someone shares a goal, they’re more likely to achieve it. So find one or a few people you trust and share your goals with them, so that they can encourage you and remind you of them in moments of discouragement. Your resolutions need to be anchored in you, corresponding to you and constantly reminding you that you are a capable and resourceful person who has decided to take one more step towards the best!
