Hello, This week I took part in a short course proposing a daily challenge. Simple challenges that showed me that we are sometimes held back by trivial concerns. Concerns that make a mockery of our self-assurance and confidence without us even realizing it. What if we decided today to step out of our comfort zone and go beyond our limits? Happiness lies in simplicity: to be happy, you just have to be you! Easy to say, but just as easy to do! Who you are
<<First name>>? You’re a great person, you’re talented and what’s more, you’re unique! No one can replace you, and you can never be anyone else. One of the keys to happiness is knowing and accepting yourself as you really are. Self-esteem is directly linked to the person you are. Let me ask you another question now: Does the shape of your ears change when you make a mistake? This may seem a surprising question, but many of us proclaim negative things about ourselves when we make a mistake. Just as the shape of your ears doesn’t change when you make a mistake, neither does who you are. So don’t devalue yourself – you’re still that great person! On the other hand, it’s perfectly normal to lose a little of your self-confidence, which is linked to what you do. To develop them again, build on who you are and think back to your successes in areas that call on the same skills. Perhaps you simply need to acquire or deepen a particular skill. In any case, the two main keys to developing strong self-confidence and self-assurance are: don’t be afraid to start small, and persevere. John C Maxwell once said “no man is born great”. All success and all great things begin with small steps. You are truly gifted
<<First name>>So start small, dare to try and go beyond your limits! You’ll undoubtedly face criticism and discouragement, and you’ll make mistakes, but only those who do nothing make mistakes. In fact, I’d say they make the biggest mistake of all: missing out on their dream. Did you know that Thomas Edisson had to make over 1,000 attempts before inventing the light bulb, that Walt Disney was criticized for his lack of creativity, or that Jack Ma, billionaire founder of the Alibaba group which owns AliExpress, was rejected at university and had 30 successive job rejections before succeeding? All these men knew who they were, had a goal and persevered to achieve it. If you’re capable and self-confident, you can do it, so don’t wait any longer – dare to try! In our next Newsletter, we’ll look at how to deal positively with criticism. I think this will also help you gain confidence.
