In our earthly lives, we would like to be excluded from discouragement. Unfortunately, we are not, and it’s not a lack of faith to admit it. However, when discouragement rears its ugly head, we must counter it with faith and persevere to experience success and rejoicing. We can summarize this phenomenon as follows:
Seasons are about growth and discouragement. A season of growth doesn’t necessarily mean ease, but it’s a season in which we move forward. We feel good, we take charge and persevere in implementing and ensuring the productivity and success of the vision. Seasons of discouragement, on the other hand, are synonymous with crisis, exhaustion and withdrawal. They force us to go through a season of healing and restoration before setting out again on the vision. When in doubt, the only appropriate response is always faith and obedience. I’m the first to advise some people to slow down and maintain balance in order to last over time. However, I’m also the first to advise against stopping and letting circumstances and storms guide you. Don’t kid yourself, if you decide to stand up and answer God’s call on your life, there’s someone you’re going to upset who’s going to do everything he can to stop you. He’ll know how to use everyone’s flaws, and no man is perfect. When in doubt, the best thing we can do is the same thing we can do in every season: rely on the Rock, on God. In all circumstances, place your trust in God more than in yourself or anyone else. Faith is “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the demonstration of things not seen”. (Hebrews 11.1). In these seasons of discouragement, it’s important to keep reminding yourself that just because you don’t see something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. On the other hand, it’s just as important to embrace and rely on God’s vision, because if you don’t see Him, He sees and has revealed to you a vision that He is fulfilling in your life. We are not God, and as human beings, our surroundings are important. We need an inner circle and support from others. The Bible tells us that it is not good for man to be alone. And to optimize and ensure your growth, you will absolutely need human supports who believe in you and listen to you, advise you and encourage you to persevere, from glory to glory and from victory to victory. Building a solid family, a circle of friends, surrounding yourself with one or more mentors and people we coach (the leader’s inner circle: click here to reread a previous article on the subject) is crucial to developing healthy exponential growth. Surrounding yourself with a team is just as important, and we’ll be talking about this in our next article: 2 for 10,000!
