Hello, Do you often feel frustrated? It’s not always easy to stay focused on what’s important to us and adapt our lives to our real priorities. Many elements come into play, both internal and external, from different sources: spiritual, emotional, relational, material and so on. However, disciplining yourself about your priorities is good for you and for others. Craig Groeshel said “If you’re constantly frustrated, it’s very likely that you spend a lot of time doing things that don’t matter to you, and less time dealing with your priorities.” When making a decision, you should always make sure of two essential things: motivation and balance. Poor motivation will quickly lead you to give up. On the other hand, if your motivation is good, then you’ll be committed, motivated, ready to take on any obstacle and persevere to completion. You’ll be able to deal with criticism and opposition, and you’ll use your creativity and fighting spirit to forge ahead and finish the race you’ve started. Balance is also essential when making decisions. An imbalance will lead to frustrations and shortages that you won’t be able to fill. So it’s important to consider the impact of our decisions on other areas of our lives. For example, if volunteering brings you happiness, you need to make sure that it doesn’t have a disproportionate impact on your family life, your friendships, your sleep, etc., which are all necessary variables for your emotional and physical health. The result would be, at best, happiness for the sake of it, which would be of no benefit to you. Keep in mind that to take care of others properly you must first take care of yourself. A broken tool will never work as well as a new one. It also means mastering the art of saying no. In our next Newsletter, we’ll look more closely at the art of setting limits.
