Hello, Do you ever feel like you’re running out of time? Being overwhelmed or close to burn-out? I don’t think I’m wrong in saying that many of us have been through or are still going through it. For a long time, I was a victim of time, I wanted to please everyone, I wasn’t clear about my priorities and therefore didn’t know how to manage my time. Yet time is an investment in your own development and that of those around you. We all have 24 hours in a day, and that’s not going to change. Living these 24 hours according to circumstances leads you to distract yourself from your priorities, your interests and, as a result, to be less efficient, less productive, less attentive to needs and less fulfilled. Your time is one of your most important means of action. You’ll be amazed at the negative effects that poor time management can have on you and those around you: frustration, feelings of contempt, feelings of abandonment, misunderstanding… all the while you’re killing yourself trying to keep everyone happy. It’s better to say no than to say yes and do nothing. Sometimes, daring to say no is a mark of respect that leads you to respond and help another person in the best possible way. So here are a few principles to help you manage your time better and be more efficient for yourself and those you come into contact with: Planning is achieving: without planning, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to achieve what you want. Circumstances will always prevent you from focusing on the essential and your goal. Planning will lead you to accomplish rather than stay busy, working smarter and organizing yourself to avoid agonizing. Finally, planning will enable you to take stock and make adjustments to move forward. Prioritizing is optimizing: your priorities are a reflection of your agenda, so make the most of your time by aligning your priorities and your agenda. It’s not a question of setting your priorities in your timetable, but of preparing your time for your priorities To produce is to delegate: reacting to urgency will lead you to become a slave to time and the immediate. Knowing how to say no to things of lesser importance enables you to say yes to essential things. If someone else can do it, don’t hesitate to delegate. Do you know the 80/20 rule? 20% of your time produces 80% of results! If you focus on your priorities, you can be much more efficient in your day-to-day life, the way you lead your life and the good things you do around you. By managing your time properly, you’re preparing and investing for the future! In our next Newsletters, we’ll take a closer look at how to use your time for your priorities.
