Hello, where are you in your relationships? Over the past few weeks, we’ve been running a series on relationships. After describing several types of relationship (couple, family, friend…), we’ve talked a lot about influence in these articles. And, by putting all the keys into practice, you’ve undoubtedly become a leader (if you weren’t before!). What is leadership? Leadership is influence nothing more, nothing less!” John Maxwell. Today we’re going to look at the relationships that are essential to leadership. A leader who has no followers is just a stroller. So he has to give a lot, but to be able to give properly and lead the way, he also has to take care of his own inner circle. Who are the essential people and priorities of a leader? God: your relationship with God is your top priority. He is your source of inspiration, the guide par excellence and the one who equips you, renews you and gives you the strength to stand firm and steady. Taking time out for prayer, Bible reading and worship will enable you to be more effective in everything you do and, above all, to improve in who you are.
A husband | wife: it’s not good for man to be alone, so unless you have the gift of celibacy, invest in your couple, in your relationship. Take care of your husband/wife and together take care of your family. By taking care of your family, you’re investing in a real DreamTeam and in your first call. How can someone who doesn’t take care of his or her family take care of the church? or work? A mentor: a leader follows, knows and shows the way. However, a leader doesn’t know everything, and he too needs someone who has been where he’s going and shows him the way, gives him support, and points the way forward. A mentor is essential to a leader. The ideal is to have several, specialized in different fields.
Partners: how can a man stand up alone if he falls? But with two, if one falls, the other will pick him up. You need a partner to go forward with. Partners are not members of your team, but people who live the same life dynamic as you and with whom you can share and move forward to work.
An apprentice: leadership implies a leader’s security and a principle of multiplication. That’s why the apprentice is essential to the leader. An apprentice is someone for whom you will act as mentor. A person to whom you will pass on your experience so that your ceiling becomes his or her placher. A true leader will be disappointed to see his apprentices reach only his own level, but will rejoice to see them go further than he has. Leadership is a way of life, a way of life that will enable you to enter a virtuous circle of fulfillment, to walk from glory to glory, from victory to victory.
It will lead you to make the vision you’ve been given, the vision of many, to make the dreams that have been placed in your heart a reality that will change the world.
