Hello, The Bible tells us that it is not good for man to be alone. Before I started my ministry and coaching, I worked and studied as a chartered accountant. I specialized in coaching entrepreneurs. It was truly beautiful to see the enthusiasm, zeal and passion some people had for entrepreneurship. I must also say that it was a shame to see some of our other customers, gnawed by the isolation and loneliness of having prioritized their project ahead of their family or child, or of having built an entire empire on their own. Building as a team is a real strength that will propel you forward. I could clearly see the difference between people who were building as a team and who could be helped to draw strength from the team, and those who were building on their own and struggling to get past certain milestones or maintain healthy conditions. The team is an essential condition for healthy growth! The Bible also tells us that 1 fights 1000 and 2 fights 10,000 (Deuteronomy 32.30). Something special happens when we work as a team; when we bring together different complementarities in the service of the Kingdom. It’s not about one or the other making progress, but about the vision God wants us to fulfill. Surrounding oneself, building a team, working in collaboration with others is a strength that will multiply growth tenfold.
The team multiplies wisdom and divides efforts!
One individual alone cannot accomplish all of God’s plans. A strong, effective team will draw on the complementarities of each person and place the common goal and perspective above the roles of each individual. In a team, each person can find the place where he or she can bring the best of him or herself. To do this, the vision must guide the members and give them the confidence they need to move forward together. The wrong attitude can destroy the best team. The interaction between members and the relationship that binds them together will be a major element in the team’s growth. How do you build a team?
- Share a common identity: they have the same values.
- Sharing a common language: they listen to each other, communicate and understand each other well.
- They share a common goal: they follow the same vision!
-
Recruit and list team members. For the sake and optimization of growth, insist on :
- The right attitude: a positive one.
- Personal growth: the team will be affected by the weakest link, so it’s important that everyone is committed to progressing as an individual and as a leader.
- Relationships: their importance and the importance of working with others.
- Training and multiplication: tell them you expect them to train other leaders in turn.
- Share your vision with team members: use different ways and forms to do this, and repeat the vision over and over again. They must be able to communicate it without difficulty. They need to integrate it and live it.
-
Withdrawing or replacing a team member: At times, it may be necessary to withdraw or replace certain team members. Should this be the case, make sure you :
- Take care of it personally.
- To act with gentleness, without bitterness or malice.
- Quickly end the team member’s responsibilities.
- To be consistent.
- Be selective in what you say and only say what’s necessary.
- Help the person move on to the next stage.
- Anticipate problems.
